Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Male sexual health is a cornerstone of overall well-being, encompassing a wide spectrum of conditions that affect physical, psychological, and social health. Disorders such as erectile dysfunction (ED), Peyronie’s disease, penile deformities, premature ejaculation, and complications following penile prosthesis implantation are increasingly recognized as significant challenges in men’s healthcare. Recent breakthroughs in the understanding of penile anatomy, particularly the discovery of the de novo penile fibro-vascular assembly, have revolutionized our approach to diagnosing and treating these conditions. Furthermore, advancements in surgical techniques, endovascular therapies, and regenerative medicine have opened new avenues for restoring sexual function and enhancing penile morphology.

This special issue aims to explore cutting-edge research and clinical approaches in managing male sexual health, focusing on integrating updated anatomical knowledge with innovative therapeutic strategies. Topics include, but are not limited to, the following aspects of male sexual health-related disorders:

1. Etiology and Pathophysiology: Novel insights into male sexual health disorders.

2. Diagnostic Innovations: Biomarker discovery, AI-driven diagnostic tools, and precision medicine approaches.

3. Therapeutic Advances: Pharmacotherapies (e.g., next-generation PDE5 inhibitors, testosterone replacement), minimally invasive procedures (e.g., shockwave therapy, penile implants), and regenerative therapies (e.g., stem cells, platelet-rich plasma).

4. Psychosocial Dimensions: Impact of mental health, relational dynamics, and cultural stigma on treatment adherence and outcomes.

5. Lifestyle and Prevention: Role of nutrition, exercise, and metabolic health in sexual function.

6. Emerging Technologies: Telemedicine platforms, wearable devices for real-time monitoring, and digital therapeutics.
