Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The field of prostate diseases treatment has witnessed in the last decades significant innovations including evolving pharmacological strategies and novel minimally invasive therapies for benign prostatic hyperplasia, developments in surgical management of prostate cancer etc. This is one of the more dynamic chapters, undergoing rapid transformation and evolution. Developments such as robotic surgery, focal therapies, next-generation imaging, PSMA-targeted diagnostics or theranostics are shifting paradigms, clinical algorithms and patient outcomes. More than these, biomarkers and genetic profiling contribute to precision medicine approaches, enabling individualized treatment planning and improved risk stratification. Significant data regarding novel technologies such as Rezum, Aquablation or ThuLEP are accumulating, creating premises for challenging the current Guidelines and refining clinical decision-making. Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the landscape of prostate disease management by improving diagnostic accuracy, optimizing risk stratification, and supporting precision-guided treatment decisions across the care paradigms. In addition, machine learning–based predictive models and radiomics are increasingly integrated into imaging interpretation and therapy response assessment.

The issue welcomes original research, expert perspectives, technical innovations, and clinical outcome studies addressing novel surgical techniques, therapeutic developments, quality-of-life outcomes, and health system impacts in the management of prostate disease. A special emphasis is placed on technologies that hold the potential to redefine standards of care and clinical pathways.

Keywords

Prostate cancer; Benign prostatic hyperplasia; Robotic and focal therapies; Artificial intelligence in prostate disease treatment

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online by submit system. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Revista Internacional de Andrología is an international peer-reviewed open access journal published by MRE Press. Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is $1500. We normally offer a discount greater than 30% to all contributors invited by the Editor-in-Chief, Guest Editor (GE) and Editorial board member.
